Become a prestigious charitable organization in Hong Kong, gather and encourage Chinese enterprises to exert the spirit of helping the poor and needy, to perform their social responsibilities to provide support and assistance to those in need.
To celebrate the 28th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China, the SAR government held a flag-raising ceremony and a celebration reception this morning (July 1). In this meaningful celebration, the "Greater Bay Area Philharmonic Hong Kong Orchestra", initiated and managed by the local charity "Wen Shan Society", once again performed passionately, adding artistic brilliance to the return ceremony with melodious music, showing the profound heritage of humanistic integration in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and demonstrating the sincere hearts of all sectors of society, especially young people, to the motherland.
As the core orchestra of the "Bay Area Philharmonic" project, the Bay Area Philharmonic Hong Kong Orchestra has always adhered to its original intention of public welfare, and is committed to serving the community and promoting fine arts through classical music. The lineup of this performance fully reflects its concept of taking root in the community and gathering diverse forces. The orchestra members include energetic students from the choir, folk music orchestra and drum team of Jiangsu and Zhejiang Public School; musicians who benefited from the public instrument training courses of Kaixin Charity, Kowloon Community Gathering Kwun Tong District Committee and the United Chinese Corporate Social Responsibility Charity Foundation; outstanding students of Zheng Jingcong Music Center and Yang Qiyu Art Center; rising stars of the Greater Bay Area Youth Vocal Orchestra; choral representatives of the Hong Kong Li Clan Association, and many other enthusiastic volunteer musicians and staff. Under the baton of the energetic conductor, Chen Qiaoqiao, a postgraduate student in conducting at the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts, this "community symphony" with different backgrounds, age groups and musical expertise worked together perfectly.
The following are some thoughts from Shi Jintian, a student of our Violin Elite Training Charity Program who was selected to participate in the performance:-
"My name is Shi Jintian, I am 15 years old this year. I come from a grassroots family and study at Kwun Tong Shun Lee Catholic Secondary School. I am in the first, second and third periods of the "Violin Elite Training Charity Program Fifth Period" hosted by Kaixin Charity, United Chinese Corporate Social Responsibility Charity Fund, Kowloon Federation of Associations Kwun Tong District Committee, Wenshan Society, and taught by Wenshan Society's professional tutor team. Through this more meaningful activity, I have benefited a lot. I met a violin tutor who led me to learn violin. As a middle school student, I am grateful that the community has this charity event, which is more than we usually have the opportunity to learn violin. Once again, I am grateful to the Kowloon Federation of Associations Kwun Tong District Committee for providing a better platform for me to achieve success in violin learning and grateful to all the philanthropists for their efforts for us. I will definitely play violin music better. In the future, I will inherit the music culture, love the country, help the society enthusiastically, and contribute my knowledge to the future. It makes me feel extremely happy in the society and learn to be grateful.
It was my great honor to play the violin at the Convention and Exhibition Center on July 1 to celebrate the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region's Handover Day. When the sound of the violin echoed in the solemn venue, I felt the pride and responsibility of being a Hong Konger. Music connects our hearts and witnesses the growth and transformation of Hong Kong. I am very moved to use music to add color to this special day, and I hope that Hong Kong will prosper and stabilize in the future and continue to compose our beautiful music.
The moment I played the violin at the Convention and Exhibition Center, I felt an inexplicable pride and excitement. As a music performer, I know that it is not just a performance, but also a commitment to my hometown to be able to present music for the anniversary of Hong Kong's return on such an important day and such a grand occasion. I feel the responsibility on my shoulders - to convey unity, hope and blessings through music. Every note carries my love and wishes for Hong Kong, and I hope that through my performance, present can feel this emotion and witness the growth and future of Hong Kong together. "
